The180 degree rule states that two characters should always maintain a left/right relationship. The camera has an imaginary axis of which the camera cannot pass otherwise it would become a reverse angle. This rule is commonly used in media where two characters are having a conversation, Ant and Dec use the rule in almost all of their appearances. The picture on the right shows the axis on which the camera can be placed, the characters should be facing the same direction at all times within the scene, to avoid confusion to the viewers.
