I feel that my preliminary Film went well and was relatively similar to my storyboarded idea. It was my first time using the cameras and tripods and was a good experience, getting used to using the equipment will be valuable to me for when I come to shoot my final piece. At first i struggled when it came to directing but i eventually got the hang of it and really enjoyed filming and am looking forward to now filming my final piece.
The one thing that put me off wanting to do media studies for A-level was using the technology on the computer. However when it came to using imovie I found it really easy to use. I had previously practiced using the application in a lesson before when we were just testing it out, so that when i came to editing my preliminary i had experience using it and therefore found it much easier and i was more confident about it. I feel that I edited my project well and it came out better than i thought it would. I used non-diegetic sound to create the feeling and meaning to the film, I also added credits and an opening to make it look more professional, this is something I will have to use in my 'Opening of a Thriller.'
In all I think that this was an enjoyable project and a great experience, it has taught me valuable skills for when I film my final piece.
